Seriously spoiled!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!! I know we did, but I am also SO glad that it is over and behind us for another year! I have been wanting to tear down all my decorations today, but just can't bring myself to do it. It seems like I just put them up!! Santa seriously spoiled everyone of us!! We wanted a low key simple Christmas, and it turned out HuGe again!haha The boys got everything and more that they asked for. I swear next year it is going to be one toy a piece!!! That's all they need! Dave of course spoiled me rotten and gave me my dream camera! The boys favorite toy this year seems to be the remote control "voom-vooms"(4-Wheeler) that grandpa John gave them. And as predicted...they haven't played with the kitchen much! Dave told me they wouldn't "what little boys like play kitchens?"he said! Well, when they are over at my cousins house they play with theirs for hours...who knew!! sigh. We had everyone over Christmas morning. Lacy and Derick and mom and dad all came over for breakfast and also to spoil the boys more. Lacy gave them the cutest Elmo. It talks, tells jokes and interacts with the kids! I think I have played with him the more than they have, he is so cute! Mom and Dad totally surprised Dave and I with an amazing new barbecue grill!! Thanks everyone for all the wonderful gifts!! I still can't believe it is all over! Just now if I could get the mess cleaned up and find a place for all these toys!
The boys loved setting out chocolate milk and cookies for Santa!

Now if I could just figure out how to use this thing!!!

All moms out there know how hard it is dragging the kids in and out of the car in this slushy mess outside! I still haven't delivered most of my presents to friends and family! Oh well...It all seems to get done one way or another! I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!!!

True meaning

I received this email a few weeks ago and thought I would share it with all of you. It really hits home this year. I am trying my hardest to teach my boys what Christmas is all about... Christ, not just santa and presents. This email said it all!

Last December, I vowed to make Christmas a calm and peaceful experience, I had cut back on nonessential obligations - extensive card writings, endless baking, decorating, and even overspending. Yet still, I found myself exhausted, unable to appreciate the precious family moments, and of course, the true meaning of Christmas. My son, Nicholas, was in kindergarten that year. It was an exciting season for a six year old. For weeks he'd been memorizing songs for his school's "Winter Pageant." I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd be working the night of the production. Unwilling to miss his shining moment, I spoke with his teacher. She assured me there would be a dress rehearsal the morning of the presentation. All parents unable to attend that evening were welcome to come then.Fortunately, Nicholas seemed happy with the compromise. So, the morning of the dress rehearsal, I filed in ten minutes early, found a spot on the cafeteria floor and sat down. Around the room, I saw several other parents quietly scampering to their seats. As I waited, the students were led into the room. Each class, accompanied by their teacher, sat cross-legged on the floor. Then, each group, one by one, rose to perform their song.Because the public school system had long stopped referring to the holiday as "Christmas", I didn't expect anything other than a fun, commercial entertainment - songs of reindeer, Santa Clause, snowflakes and good cheer. So, when my son's class rose to sing, "Christmas Love," I was slightly taken aback by its bold title. Nicholas was aglow, as were all of his classmates, adorned in fuzzy mittens, red sweaters, and bright snow-caps upon their heads. Those in the front row - centre stage - held up large letters, one by one, to spell out the title of the song.As the class would sing "C is for Christmas," a child would hold up the letter C. Then "H is for Happy," and on and on, until each child holding up his portion had presented the complete message, "Christmas Love." The performance was going smoothly, until suddenly, we noticed her; a small, quiet, girl in the front row holding the letter "M" upside down - totally unaware her letter "M" appeared as a "W".The audience of 1st through 6Th graders snickered at the little one's mistake. But she had no idea they were laughing at her, so she stood tall, proudly holding her "W". Although many teachers tried to shush the children, the laughter continued until the last letter was raised, and we all saw it together. A hush came over the audience and eyes began to widen. In that instant, we understood the reason we were there, why we celebrated the holiday in the first place, why even in the chaos, there was a purpose for our festivities. For when the last letter was held high, the message read loud and clear: "CHRISTWAS LOVE". And, I believe, He still is!

O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree!

I am FiNaLLy done decorating for Christmas! I usually have it all up the day after thanksgiving, but we were all sick so it had to wait! We didn't go all out this year like we usually do. We did get light up on the outside, well...WE can't take the credit for it, our good friend puts lights up for a living so we hired him! Thanks Conner!! Way worth it by the way, he even comes and takes them down to! WOW! Lights were WAY important to Ayden this year! He loves it! I can't wait until Christmas day. I'm not exactly ready, but we are trying to get back to the true meaning of Christmas this year. We are trying to teach the boys that its not all about toys and Santa. Christ will be the center of Christmas for us this year! I wish everyone the happiest Christmas season! Remember what is truly important this holiday season. Take time to stand back and enjoy friends, family and the Lord! I am truly grateful for all the wonderful people in my life...I love all my family and friends!!

My baby is 2!!

Austyn...2 weeks old

I can't hardly believe that Austyn is 2 today. It has been the fastest 2 years of my life! I love this little guy so much. He was quite the surprise. Ayden was only 8 months old when I found out I was pregnant with Austyn. As some of you know, it took a little while to get Ayden, so we were shocked to say the least. What a little blessing he is! He is the easiest going little guy...EVER. He is SO tender hearted as well. He gets his feeling hurt so easy. He is also very kind, and listens really well. He shares with his super demanding brother at the drop of a hat, and most of the time does it with a smile. He is my little cuddle bug, he loves to snuggle, and I love it just as much as he does. He is as smart as they come. He can already count to 15 and knows all of his colors. He loves Dora and Barney, I know...what a combo hu?? He also loves diggers, tractors and anything that moves. I can't imagine our lives without him...so here is to you Austyn!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

These are all his cousins...I thought this picture was pretty cool!

He had a great birthday, and was spoiled as usual! Thanks to everyone who came to his party on Sunday. He LoVeS all his new toys!! We LOVE you Austyn!!

SiCk Stratz fam

Its been a rough couple weeks here at the Stratz house! I usually don't like to vent on my blog...but its just part of life, hu?! I know that all you moms out there can relate with me. Sick kids are the worst! I can't handle it! It all started about 3 weeks ago when I came down with a horrible cough that just kept getting worse! Of course, I don't go to the doctor until I literally can't breathe! When I finally got to urgent care, I found out I had a sinus infection and bronchitis! Yuck! So after a few days of antibiotics I was feeling...ok...just ok! Then I got a touch of the tummy bug on top of the flipping cough!! Then the next day Dave came home with the stomach bug as well! I quarantined him to our room and Lysoled the heck out of everything after he was better (24 hours later!) I was just waiting for the kids to get it right on Thanksgiving...luckily they didn't! I thought that we dodged the bullet!! So I am still not feeling up to par, very tired and wore out! Austyn woke up barfing last night at 12:30am and didn't stop until this morning at about 7:30 this morning. Every 30 minutes like clock work! I felt SO bad for the little guy!! So after cleaning carpets at 1:00am I was ready for bed! Well...Ayden was in bed with me after that coughing up a lung...all night! So Dave had to do barf duty! He was a trooper. Ayden felt a little better this morning, but by noon he was running a fever! Great! I always freak out about Ayden and fevers since he has febrile seizures! Ayden started his round of barfing around 5:00 this evening! So needless to say...I am in for a LONG night again...I can feel it! I hate this time of year just for this reason! I am just praying for us to be healthy for Christmas! Sorry for this long venting session, but I just had to! I feel much better now...thanks!haha

Here is Ayden at midnight....He is still all smiles even when he is sick! Notice all the towels he is laying on....that makes for easy clean up when he misses the garbage can!haha

Thankful

Thanksgiving is upon us and it always makes me think of what I am thankful for in my life!! Now days...thanksgiving is just passed by. It has become sort of the forgotten holiday! I am guilty for it myself! Stores start putting up Christmas decor the second that Halloween is over! What about being thankful? Is it not enough of a money making holiday to celebrate?? So here are just some of the things that I am thankful for!! My family. Especially my husband and boys...they are my life! Money...I am thankful that my husband has a steady job and we are able to buy the things we need. Health...I am thankful for me and my families health. I have been so sick this last week with a sinus infection and bronchitis, but in the large picture with people struggling with life threatening illness such as cancer...I can't complain about a little old cold!! A home...I am thankful for a safe, warm place to live. Heavenly Father... I have no problem thanking my Heavenly Father for all of this, because without him...I would have none of it! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!

Twilight mania!!

YAY!!! It is Twilight week! I have watched the previews a million times(all of them) trying to see something new...I can't wait any longer! I started the books a few months ago after hearing SO much about them. I really thought that they weren't going to be that good, mostly because the fan base was 13 year old girls...well I thought!! Needless to say, I am hooked! I am on the 3rd book and refuse to read more. I don't want it to end. I am just taking my time! Although I do know what happens in the last book, thanks to people talking about it like everyone has read it already!haha My sis and some friends at her work got me tickets for Thursday night!! YAY! Its also an early showing! So all of you that have to wait until midnight .....naner naner naner!!! By the way...have you seen the new Instyle magazine? A huge spread on the actors! I sure hope Edward grows on me after seeing the movie! Just not in love with him...yet! I guess everyone has their own "Edward" in their head right!?

Too much TV!!

I just came to a realization that maybe we watch a little too much TV during the day. Ayden and Austyn were just playing when Ayden attempted to take a tractor away from Austyn. Austyn started screaming "swiper no swippy, swiper no swippy!!" WoW! Can you say to much Dora!!haha I didn't think we watched it THAT much!! And to make it even funnier, Aydens response was "ohhhh...it's ok sweety, I will give it back in a minute!"LOL

Friends!!

Our long time, and much missed friends came to visit us on Saturday! I have been begging them to come visit since we moved back here! Dave and Cody are like two peas in a pod! And Mind, can't say enough about her! She is the sweetest, most gorgeous girl I know! They brought their darling kids with them, so Mindy and I took the kids to the Dino museum while Dave and Cody headed out to blow some stuff up with guns and a little thing called Tannerite!! They also got a little prairie dog hunting in as well. The kids had a fun time at the museum!

Gage...the sweetest baby EvEr!!Alyssa...can't say enough about this sweet girl! The boys were SO tired after a long day with no naps! I thought this was too funny! On Sunday it was pouring rain, but we still managed to go watch Dave and Cody blow up a toilet! It was pretty cool! We had such a great time with them all, just wished they could have stayed longer!! And why didn't I get a picture of their whole family together?? Too busy I guess!! Thanks Mind, for letting me steal some pics from your blog! Can't wait until they get to come out again!! Once I can figure out how to upload the video of Dave and Cody....I will!!haha
